How can I purchase replacement keys?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you have misplaced your iKamper key or need an extra set, we can help. All of our roof top tents and most accessories with locking latches use iKamper’s proprietary key and lock system.

This article explains how to request a replacement key, how key numbers work, and why the number on your key may not match the number on your lock.

Key and Lock Numbers Explained

Your lock and your key may each have a small stamped number. These numbers do not need to match exactly. iKamper uses a proprietary internal matching system. This means that a lock with number “X” may be paired with a key labeled “Y” in our system.

It can be confusing to see different numbers, but it is expected.

If you provide us with the number from your lock, we can identify the correct replacement key.

Where to Find the Lock Number

On iKamper tents, the lock number is located:

  • On the metal locking latch

  • Stamped into the cylinder near the key opening

  • Small and may require good lighting to read

If you have trouble finding it, take a photo of the latch and we can help identify it.

How to Order Replacement Keys

You can order replacement keys directly on our website:

When placing your order, you will see a field labeled Lock Number. Enter the number stamped on your lock into this field. There is no need to enter the number from your key.

Once submitted, our team uses your lock number to identify the correct key based on our proprietary matching system.

Why This Matching System Works

iKamper uses an internal coding method that allows us to identify the correct key for your lock, even if the numbers do not appear to match. There is no need to worry about decoding or guessing. Just give us the number printed on the lock.

Trust the process. If you provide the lock number, we will send the correct key.
