How to Identify Your Skycamp Generation and Rainfly Version?

Before ordering a replacement rainfly or skin, confirm your Skycamp generation and rainfly version so you get the right part the first time.

Rainflies and skins are specific to each Skycamp series, and the Skycamp 2.0 series has two different rainfly versions. Confirming which one you have before ordering helps us send the right part the first time.

What to send us

Email [email protected] with:

  • A photo of your tent fully set up, taken from the side so the rainfly and window are visible

  • A clear photo of the serial number label on your tent

  • Your order number or proof of purchase, if you have it

Our team will confirm your tent's generation and rainfly version, then share the correct replacement options.

Skycamp 2.0 rainfly versions

There are two versions of the Skycamp 2.0 rainfly: the Standard Version and an earlier Old Version. They are not interchangeable, so we will confirm your version from your photos before quoting a replacement.

Telling a Skycamp 2.0 apart from a Skycamp 1.0

Skycamp 2.0 tents introduced two visible changes from the Skycamp 1.0:

  • Side webbing straps on the tent body — the Skycamp 1.0 does not have these.

  • A zippered rainfly, rather than one sewn directly onto the tent — this lets the rainfly be separated from the inner canvas tent. The Skycamp 1.0 rainfly is sewn on.

The Skycamp 2.0 series comes in two sizes — Skycamp 2.0 (also called Skycamp 2.0 Full, sleeps 4) and Skycamp 2.0 Mini (sleeps 2) — and this sizing applies to both the 1st and 2nd generation rainfly versions below.

Identifying your Skycamp 2.0 rainfly version

The two Skycamp 2.0 rainfly versions can be told apart by how far the rainfly extends down the side of the tent.

1st generation (after the middle of 2019)

Skycamp 2.0 1st generation rainfly and side webbing straps

On the 1st generation, the rainfly is shorter — it only comes about halfway down to the side windows (shown by the dotted line in the photo above). The side webbing straps (red arrows) and the zippered rainfly seam are also visible here, which is how you can tell this is a Skycamp 2.0 and not a Skycamp 1.0.

Compatible replacement parts for the 1st generation Skycamp 2.0: 1st Generation Skycamp 2.0 Rainfly, Skycamp 2.0 Skin Set, and Skycamp 3.0 Conversion Kit.

2nd generation

Skycamp 2.0 2nd generation rainfly, coming all the way down to the side windows

On the 2nd generation, the rainfly comes all the way down to the side windows (shown by the dotted line in the photo above). Like the 1st generation, the rainfly is zippered rather than sewn on, so it can be separated from the inner tent.

Compatible replacement parts for the 2nd generation Skycamp 2.0: 2nd Generation Skycamp 2.0 Rainfly, Skycamp 2.0 Skin Set, and Skycamp 3.0 Conversion Kit.

Switching to a newer rainfly

  • The Skycamp 3.0 rainfly does not fit a Skycamp 2.0 skin. To use the 3.0 rainfly on a Skycamp 2.0, the Skycamp 3.0 Skin Set is needed.

  • A Skycamp 1.0 cannot use a Skycamp 2.0 rainfly on its own. Because the inner skin also needs to match, we recommend the Skycamp 2.0 Old Version Skin Set.
